I love making Independence day cards and tags.
I think that is because the Dutch flag is the
same color as the American. This we we are
binded together and I love wishing
all my American stamp and scrap friends
a Happy Independence day.
Want to know how I made this tag?
Well, first you need a tag and
I have the Sizzix alteration tag die
to cut me a few tags.
Put the tag on your cutting mat
and cover the middle part with
red white and blue colored washi tape.
On top and bottom of the tag I used
Tim Holtz mini blue print stamps
and stamped them with archival black.
I colored the images with distress markers.
Of course the tag needed a more vintage look,
so I got out the vintage photo distress inkpad
and a blending tool. Covering the washi paper
with a piece of post-it note. Now color the
bottom and the topwith vintage photo.
Then I took the picket fence marker and used
it on the S to make it more white.
As the word independence is not in the word set,
I typed and printed it with the computer
on a piece of manilla paper and afterards stamped
the frame.
I arranged the word frame and Miss America on the
middle part of the tag.
Fastened it with a star brad on top and
stapled the word and the picture together.
Some red and blue baker's twine is perfect
in red and blue to finish the tag.
Hope you'll have a wonderful day!
Have a creative day!
