Friends

A day without a friend
is like a pot without a single drop of
honey  left inside.
                              ~Winnie de Pooh
I decided to use it on a card.
And i want to sharewith you how i did it.

As i do not have a stamp with this sentiment,
I went to my word program and typed
the sentiment and used different lettering
until I was satisfied and printed this out.
You are welcome to copy my sentiment from
the top of the page to use for your own cards.
Or just type your own lettering.
You can even try to do it by hand if you are
good with calligraphy.
I started my card with a honeycomb stencil ( from Michael Strong)
and one of Tim Holtz new colors called fossilized amber.
Hold down your stencil with a few bits of washi tape.
I don't like the background to be even, so I did
not put the same amount of color everywere.
Here you see the finished background.
I did this directly on my folded card.

I cut the sentiment, added some ink all around and matted
it to a piece of shiny dark brown paper.
Then I stamped some sunflowers and colored
these with the fossilized amber marker
and vintage photo ink that is diluted with water.
Next I added these bees. The are from a Michael Strong Stamp set
called Hannah's Busy Bee and you find it here.
The wings are accented with glitter glue.
The honey pot is the Michael Strong cloisonné pot stamp
embossed with copper on the same paper I used behind
the sentiment. The pot is cut out with scissors.
Now when I finished doing the pot and wanted to add
it to the card, it was just way to big! Now what to do?
Luckily Mike als has a small pot stamp here.
So on this card I added 2 smallpots that i did the same
way as the large pot.

So as not to waste the large pot, I just made another
card. This time i started with the pot stamp and
printed a smaller sentiment to fit this card.
Using Michael Strong's cloisonné flower stamp
and the Busy Bees completed this card.

On both cards I drew a line all around the card by
hand with a black marker and added a few sticky
gemstones for some bling.

Hope you will come back again tomorrow,
